As for microphone, this might sound silly but i knew the microphones on most gaming heasets are mostly mediocre ah best, i just got a blue yeti with my headset.
I find it that my gaming headset is way better for that than my secondary headphones. And true, story and exploration games like skyrim for example are way more immersive with studio headphones, but i still like a correctly tuned „gaming“ headset (i know you can technically tune most headphones like that) for shooters and any competitive games where for example steps are important. PS: The Cloud IIs were actually very cheap, because I got them second hand, but I think my point still stands against cheaper built headphones. I still find myself using them despite having nice open back headphones. I got a good experience out my Cloud II though, so at least that one was good. And then the mic began making random noises 100% of the time, making it completely useless.

Then after some patch to the software I couldn't disable 7.1 at all, even after downgrading drivers and software. I literally had to use tape on these on my first few months, because the plastic piece holding them broke (they were a fortune for me so I protected them like they were my child). The turtle beach only had too much bass, some mids and no highs, but I did break them myself after raging.
I personally have owned some turtle beach headphones, Logitech G430 and the Cloud II. I always found the sound lacking when I listened to music with them and their build quality was simply not good in comparison to what I have now.
